Melvin Seidenberg photographs consist of eight of archival boxes which are arranged in three series according to medium. The series designations are as follows: Prints, Negatives, and Slides/Transparencies. The photographs contain images documenting Renaissance I, the history of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, housing, urban planning, redevelopment, and transportation. There are also a few images of Seidenberg, his family, friends, and colleagues. The photographs complement much of the research and work that Seidenberg did during his career.

This collection documents the Vice President's Office during the years the office was held by Clinton S. Golden (1943-1946), Van A. Bittner (1943-1949), James Thimmes (1946-1955), and Howard Hague (1955-1965). Years 1943-1945 are included on 6 reels of microfilm, documenting primarily Golden's files and 19 additional reels documenting primarily James Thimmes. These documents, arranged chronologically, include audit reports, interoffice correspondence, and contract negotiations. The remainder of the collection consists of office files from Howard Hague. The Howard Hague series, arranged alphabetically by folder subject, includes a substantial number of files that reach back into the vice-presidencies of his predecessors. There is correspondence concerning the AFL-CIO, USWA districts and international officers, international affairs, and contract negotiations, with emphasis on the 1959 strike. The vice-president addressed a wide variety of duties resulting in documents from numerous departments of the USWA, with files on topics as diverse as audits, civil rights, Communism, elections, insurance and pensions, legislation, payroll, publicity, public welfare, records management, safety, symphony concerts, threatening letters, a typewriter inventory, wages, and women's auxiliaries.

The collection contains personal and general correspondence, memoranda, resolutions, pamphlets, broadsides, affidavits, financial records, newspaper clippings, and memorabilia highlighting Curtiss' activities as a Steel Workers Organizing Committee staff representative and organizer, and United Steelworkers of America district director. These materials chiefly document SWOC's Bethlehem Steel organizing drive in Johnstown, Pa. from 1937 to 1939, and in Bethlehem, Pa. from 1939 to 1941. For the years preceeding his affiliation with the Steelworkers union, Curtiss' activities as a clergyman and social reformer are documented in letters, financial records, and ledgers. Notable correspondents include several steelworkers union officials: David J. McDonald, Emil John (E.J.) Lever, Clinton S. Golden, and Van A. Bittner.
