This collection contains approximately 258 items relating to John Wesley, his family, and Methodism. Approximately half of the collection consists of artifacts relating to John Wesley. The collection is organized in three series: I., Prominent Methodists; II., Methodist Events; and III., Miscellaneous artifacts. Series I, Prominent Methodists, is organized in two groups and three subgroups. Group A., Wesley family, includes subgroups John Wesley, Charles Wesley, and Other Wesleys. Group B. is Other Methodists. The collection includes images such as cameos, paintings, engravings, and photographs. Other artifacts include commemorative plates and plaques and other ceramic items, busts and figurines, medals, and other items.

The general records of Emory College consist of an assortment of materials documenting various aspects of the history of the College from its founding in 1836 through the time of its move to the Emory University campus in 1919. The collection includes items relating to events and activities such as commencement; printed material and clippings on the history of the College; writings and other documents related to several of the early presidents of the College; student papers; faculty and student records; a family scrapbook kept by descendants of College namesake John Emory; and legal documents including a copy of the College charter.

Jordan, William M., 1813-1882. Papers, 1852-1857.

Title: Papers, 1852-1857.

Diary, 1852-1857, recording Jordan's service on three circuits in N.C. and one in Va. Entries in the diary are usually brief, but Jordan's remarks contain considerable color, and the diary conveys a strong impression of what life was like for an itinerant Methodist clergyman of that time. Notable references include, Starling Gunn, Charles M. Force Deems, Greensboro College, slave traders of Caswell Co., Normal College (later Trinity College), a profitable gold mine in Randolph Co., Rev. Micajah Hill, Bishop George Foster Pierce, Rev. William Ormond and Ormond's Chapel, Rev. William W. Nesbitt, and Braxton Craven. Extended meetings or revivals are noted often, usually during the warm months.

Title: Pauline Pierce Corn papers, 1879-1970.

The collection consists of the papers of Pauline Pierce Corn from 1878-1966. Much of the collection relates to Ernest Corn's medical service during World War I. Included are his letters from France to his future wife, Pauline Pierce, and clippings and other material relating to World War I. The certificate is Ernest Corn's appointment to the United States Public Health Service Reserves in 1943. Also included are late nineteenth and early twentieth century family letters; two letters of her brother, Lovick Wilson Pierce; writings of Pauline Pierce Corn; family historical and genealogical information; and a printed tribute to Bishop George Foster Pierce (1884).

Hatton-Lovejoy memoirs, 1833-1887.

Title: Hatton-Lovejoy memoirs, 1833-1887.

The collection consists of the typed memoirs of the Hatton and Lovejoy families, titled "Memoirs of my mother and her family," and a carbon copy of these memoirs. The memoirs begin with the arrival of the Hatton family (compiler's great-grandfather) in Georgia on November 13, 1833, having moved family and slaves from the Newberry district, South Carolina, to Meriwether County, Georgia. Grandmother Mary Ann Hatton married Anderson Ray Lovejoy of Jasper County, Georgia, who became a licensed Methodist preacher in Meriwether County through the influence of distant kinsmen Lovick and George Foster Pierce. The family moved into Greenville, Georgia, from the county, then to Atlanta, Oxford, Clarkston, and Lovejoy's Crossing. There are many mentions of prominent people and events during the mid-nineteenth century. The memoirs conclude in 1887.
