Most of the correspondence with Merritt is from Nadia Boulanger (42 items), Winifred Johnstone (13 items), Annette Dieudonné (9 items), and Cécile Armagnac (7 items); but there are also single letters or notes from Aaron Copland, Alexei Haieff, Karel Husa, Olga Koussevitzky, Joyce Mekeel, Daniel Pinkham, and Walter Piston.
