Consists of letters addressed to Stalker from colleagues in the medical profession, and also Stalker's collection of autographed letters and photographs of eminent men. The oldest signature in the collection is that of John Radcliffe, which is on a receipt dated 1702; the oldest letter, dated 1760, is that of John Hunter. Others represented by autographs or photographs in the collection are: Sir Frederick Grant Banting, Sigmund Freud, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sir William Osler, Ivan P. Pavlov, Rudolf Virchow, C. G. Jung, Harvey Cushing, and Benjamin Rush. Major correspondents of Stalker's include Alexander Taylor Bunts, Richard Clarke Cabot, Oliver Cope, Fuller Albright, Maude Elizabeth Seymour Abbott, James Morison Faulkner, Theodore Chase Greene, Lewis Marshall Hurxthal, and George Richards Minot. Many of these individuals describe their medical activities and provide autobiographical or historical information in their letters to Stalker.

Title: Elizabeth Hughes Papers. 1907-1951 (bulk 1921-1923)

The collection largely consists of letters written by Hughes to her mother describing her activities and giving information about her health and diabetic condition. The letters dating from August to November 1922 describe Hughes' experiences in Toronto where she was treated with insulin by F.G. Banting. The collection also contains photographs of Hughes and her family, dating from 1907 to 1951.

Ward, William Rankin, Dr., 1870-1955. Speeches, 1922-1953.

Title: Speeches, 1922-1953.

Dr. William Rankin Ward (1870-1955), a prominent Newark, N.J. (Essex County) physician and descendent of one of the first settlers of Newark, was known for his civic and philanthropic involvement. Dr. Ward practiced medicine for nearly 20 years before joining the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Co. (Newark) in 1905, where he served as its medical director from 1912 until his retirement in 1945. Considered a "molder of community thought and action in Newark," Dr. Ward served actively in historic, educational, civic, religious and philanthropic organizations and lectured widely.
