The collection consists of five letters, including: to Gerald Bullett, 11 April 1932, from Rome, agreeing to have his writing included in an anthology and expressing satisfaction at the passages selected; to John E. Moore, 16 June 1936, from Paris, discussing the character Nathaniel Alden from his book, The Last Puritan; two letters to Prof. Erwin Hexner, 21 April 1946 and 28 Feb. 1949, both from Rome, the first about the book he is working on, Dominations and Powers, the second about his views of "primal will;" to Stefan Schimanski, 8 Dec. 1949, from Rome, approving of his inclusion in the journal World Review and commenting critically on an interview he gave to Peter Russell printed in the magazine.

The collection contains seven letters and one Christmas card from, one printed poem by, six clippings about T.S. Eliot, and one certificate award. Eliot writes to Werner J. Milch, 3 December 1942, suggesting he call Eliot's secretary for an appointment and about his willingness to discuss publishing a book on Hofmannsthal [with six clippings about Eliot in German]. He writes on Faber and Faber letterhead to Stefan Schimanski, 23 May 1946, concerning poems published in German periodicals without permission; to Vernon Watkins, 1 April 1947, about publishing Watkins' translation from the German of Heine's poems; to Dr. Kurt H. Hansen, 1 June 1948, about the difficulty in translating English verse into German and declining to authorize another translation of his own poems. He writes to Anne Munro-Kerr, Society of Authors/League of Dramatists, 14 October 1953, about foreign producers for his play, The Confidential clerk, and 16 October 1958, concerning the foreign language rights of his play, The Elder statesman; to M. Elizabeth Barber, League of Dramatists, 6 November 1958, seeking advice about anti-German alterations in the English translation of a German play by Gerhard Hauptmann. Also, a printed Christmas keepsake, 1987, of Eliot's poem, "The cultivation of Christmas trees;" one Faber and Faber Christmas card signed by Eliot, 1950; and his 1955 certificate of award of the Hanseatic-Goethe Prize.
