Other items discuss his involvement in affairs of the Episcopal church, particularly Trinity Church (Society Hill, S.C.); family letters of Lucas' wife, Caroline (Carrie) McIver (1834-1901), their children, Thomas Smith (1863-1939), Frances (Fannie) McIver Lucas Wilkes (d. 1944), James Jonathan (Jon), Jr. (1866-1901), Benjamin Simons (1868-1938), Elizabeth Wilds Lucas McIver (1872-1948), Mary McIver Lucas (d. 1914), and Melita (Lita) Eleanor (1877-1907), and J.J.
