Writing out [on 6 May], on two staves, measures 59-64 of Schubert's song "Die abgeblühte Linde" (D. 514, with a number of variants from the original), asking [Lambert] Massart to send the chorus from Schubert's Rosamunde (published by Richault), Meyerbeer's "Le moine," Beethoven's Pastorale and C-minor symphonies, mentioning "Adelaide," Breitkopf & Härtel, his Années de pèlerinage, an article by Heine, the fables of La Fontaine; and [on 19 May] expressing unhappiness with his life--"mes affaires ne marchent point"--, mentioning Benedict's concert the night before with Rubini, Grisi, and Lablache, saying it augers well for his own concert on 5 June, expressing a desire to spend time with her, but not in London--"ce pays-ci me fait la plus déplaisante impression"--, enclosing [not present] tickets for Rothschild and a word for Schomberg, saying that it has been proposed that [Fanny Tacchinardi-]Persiani, Rubini, and Liszt make a tour of the Rhine and Belgium--"L'association serait honorable"--, mentioning Ferdinand Denis, David, Mlle Lagrange, Samoyloff, Buonomi, Neipperg, Ricordi, Mlle de Varny, Rossini, Mondeux, etc.; the paragraph concerning Persiani, Rubini, and the proposed tour is lacking.
