This collection consists of the negatives made by Mattie Edwards Hewitt. The negatives document New Jersey estates, gardens, and home interiors. Included are images of the properties of the Hammond-Harris family of Bordentown at Boneparte Park; the Schley-Reeve house and Clarence Dillon's "Dunwalke" in Far Hills; Edward Wallace Scudder's house, "Willowbrook," in Rumson; William B. Reilley's garden in Orange; James Cox Brady's garden and house in Gladstone; Mrs. John E. Sloane's (Madeline Edison Sloane, daughter of Thomas Edison) house in Llewellyn Park, West Orange; Gerard Lambert's "Albemarle" and J.R. McGinley's "Edgerstoune" in Princeton; Edward Remick's garden in Short Hills; Dr. Benjamin Still's house in Bloomsburg; and Andrew V. Stout's "Brick House" in Red Bank.
