Title: Fort Fayette letter book, 1811-1812.

Letterbook of Fort Fayette's Lt. Commandant and Adj. Quartermaster, H. Johnson, includes letters dating from July 16, 1811 to Dec. 3, 1812, regarding military supplies and invoices, addressed to individuals such as Secretary of War, William Eustis; Pennsylvania Deputy Quartermaster, William Linnard; and Gen. William Henry Harrison, commanding the Northwest Army. Of note are an estimate and explanation of expenses for enlarging and repairing Fort Fayette. Several letters to Gen. Harrison at Mansfield, Ohio regarding supplies and invoices are followed by letters in which Johnson defends his conduct as quartermaster against Harrison's "ill will" toward him.
