The handwritten accession books record all commercially-published books, government documents, and journals titles of publications acquired by the FSCW and FSU Library collection from 1909-1951. Each accession book includes the date and number of accession, author, title, place, publisher, date of printing and publication, volume, source (with name of donor or bookseller), and cost. Gaps exist between 1909-1918 and 1918-1923. The two handwritten circulation record books indicate borrowing statistics for faculty and students, by subject area. Each volume covers ten years (1949-1959; 1959-1969). The collection not only documents the growth of the FSU Library's collection; it is also significant to researchers studying the types of materials purchased by a major university library during the first half of the 20th Century.

This is a collection of small prints taken on the Florida State College for Women (FSCW) campus in 1916. Scenes include East Hall, students, an exterior view of FSCW President Dr. Edward Conradi's home, campus landscapes, exterior views of Westcott and dining hall buildings, the arcade leading to the old dining hall, Reynolds Hall, and the Westcott Fountain frozen with ice. There is also a 1916 picture of Dr. and Mrs. Albert Murphree and family. The collection provides excellent visual documentation of the early years of the Florida State College for Women.

This series contains the administrative papers of the second president of the University of Florida, Albert Alexander Murphree. Included are files of correspondence with the college deans. Of particular note, are the files related to the College of Education and, to a lesser degree, the colleges of Law, Business, and Architecture. There is extensive correspondence related to the Military Dept., including records concerning the development of the Student Army Training Corps. Also of note are the files related to the Florida Board of Control and other state officials. Of special interest are the files concerning Ludwig W. Buchholz. Buchholz was a professor of education accused of disloyalty during World War I. Letters from William Jennings Bryan can be found. These concern the university's YMCA program, temperance, and the teaching of evolution. Other topics in the series include the Southern Education Board, the General Education Board, and several hazing incidents.
