Regarding a suit filed by her, concerning her only daughter, Alexandrine Jeanne Le Normand, 1743-1754. She has given Mr. Labourdonnois's report (Bertrand François Marie de la Bourdonnais, 1699-1753) to Mr. Mauchaud (Jean Baptiste de Machault d'Arnouville, 1701-1794), who will await more detailed information from the lawyer. Mme. de Pompadour is pessimistic about the outcome of the suit, but hopes that her daughter will retain her grandparents' fortune: "Win or lose, we will never have anything to reproach ourselves with, and money will never be able to ruin our happiness. This is always my way of thinking, and I hope you approve of it."

Autograph letter signed : Paris, to [the Countess Aurora Konigs March, Mother of Maurice de Saxe], 1721 Mar. 22.
This long and spirited letter, written in 1721, the year Lecouvreur became the mistress of Maurice de Saxe, is apparently written to his mother, the Countess Aurora Konigs March, begging for her support. The Marechal de Saxe had just returned to France from a campaign against the Turks, obtained his commission, and been divorced from his wife. Signed "Lecouvreur."
