Also includes records of church clubs and organizations, 1719-1955, including the Benevolent Fraternity of Churches, Boston Quarterly Charity Lecture, Ladies Benevolent Society, and National Alliance of Unitarian Women, as well as the Sunday school and church library; minister's papers, 1677-1961, including Henry Ware, Jr. sermons, 1814-1834, and Ralph Waldo Emerson papers, 1828-1883, including his letters of acceptance and resignation and a manuscript copy of his sermon on the Lord's supper which led to his resignation; church historian files, clippings, and printed materials relating to church history; and records of churches absorbed by Second Church, including New Brick Church, 1719-1773, Freeman Place Chapel, 1848-1854, and Church of the Savior, 1845-1860.
