Thirteen letters, three written by Edward to his father, nine to his brother William, and one from William to Edward. The letters all pertain to Edward's business ventures, almost every letter explaining the need for a loan to pay debts, or buy land near a railroad, or speculate in corn. The later letters occasionally refer to Henry's disappearance.

The correspondence is devoted to mining in California and Nevada, politics, the Vigilance Committee, and business affairs. Most of the letters are from Henry to his brother William in New York, but a few to William from another brother, Edward, are included.

Papers include receipts, bills, letters, and legal papers from the law practice of Frank and William Eno; business letters received with a few copies of outgoing letters concerning the Dutchess and Columbia Railroad Company, property matters, collection of debts and other financial transactions, Edward Eno's business connection with Martin Van Buren in Kinderhook, livestock, poultry, stocks and investments, teaching positions in Pine Plains, Moravian history in Dutchess County, and state and local Democratic politics; and Eno, Holden, and Ellis family correspondence including detailed letters to William from his daughter Mary Eno Ellis concerning hired help in Yonkers, 1867. Collection also includes two letters from Benson J. Lossing to his wife, 1860 and 1882, and several he received from Edwin Greble and others concerning genealogy and history, 1867-1890.
