Rokeach, Milton. Milton Rokeach papers, 1944-1981.

Title: Milton Rokeach papers, 1944-1981.

The Milton Rokeach papers contain voluminous professional correspondence, including pre and post publication correspondence about Rokeach's books "The Open and Closed Mind", "The Three Christs of Ypsilanti", and "Beliefs, Attitudes, and Values." There are numerous requests for reprints and for permission to use the Dogmatism Scale developed by Rokeach. There is also much correspondence regarding invitations to speak to various universities and groups, as well as departmental correspondence within the department of psychology at Michigan State University. A considerable amount of correspondence regarding the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI), of which Rokeach was president for 1965-1966, is also included. The collection also contains scores, data compilation, and graphs for Rokeach's "Study of Rigidity" (1947). There is correspondence from 1967 regarding contributers to a volume titled "The Legitimization of Evil", the publication of which was sponsored by SPSSI. Biographical information regarding Else Frankel Brunswik and Rokeach's role in her memorial service is included. There are some materials regarding Rokeach's research of the impact of the television program "All in the Family" and the character Archie Bunker conducted in 1972-1975. General topics appearing in the collection include: narrow-mindedness, prejudice, rigidity, and dogmatism.

Title: Molly Harrower papers, 1886-1999.

The Molly Harrower papers contain a large amount of professional correspondence. There is extensive correspondence to and from Kurt Koffka - containing over 1,000 letters spanning the years 1928-1941. There are books and repriints by Harower, and drafts of an unpublished autobiography. APA committee minutes, reports , and correspondence. Tape and transcription of "Projective Use of the Wechsler-Bellevue Test" by Harrower. There are also two sets of Harrower ink blots from 1945. There is extensive information regarding topics such as: projective techniques, Harrower's group Rorschach, clinical testing, and Harrower's work on "The Nazi Personality" in which she examined Rorschachs of Nazi war criminals. The collection also includes an audiotape from a Geriatric Conference on Creativity and Aging, taped on July 21, 1989. The collection also contains numerous poems written by Harrower.
