Title: Papers, 1853-1943.

Personal correspondence, bills and receipts from various members of the Staples family of West Baldwin and Naples, Maine. The collections includes three letters, dated 1853 and 1858, and receipts for taxes and items purchased, 1845-1874, of Samuel Staples of West Baldwin; one receipt of his son M.M. (Moses) Staples, 1864; and one receipt of his son Oliver S. Staples, 1875. It also contains one letter, 1929, two undated holiday cards, and one photograph negative of an unidentified child, all addressed to Samuel Staples's daughter Eva M. Staples. Also included is correspondence of Harry O. and Carrie Staples of Naples, dating from 1912 to 1943; the majority of letters are to Carrie Staples. There are also a few letters to and from Donald and Reginald Staples, as well as several letters for which the recipient cannot be identified. All of the letters touch on family matters.
