The papers of this prominent British poet and biographer include extensive personal correspondence with family, friends, writers and publishers; and holograph manuscripts of his poetry as well as typescripts of his short stories, essays, lectures, and reviews. Also included are corrected proof sheets for the American edition of All men are enemies, which document many important textual changes, from the library of Frank N. Doubleday's private secretary. His papers includes the Miriam Benkovitz collection of correspondence between Alan Bird and Aldington. The collection also contains some photographs.

Yeats: Some Memories", together with 2 photographs; one of Patmore and the other of W.B. Yeats, both taken at Rapallo 1928-29. Also included are two explanatory sheets by her son, Derek Patmore. The first is a typescript "Brigit Patmore & D.H. Lawrence", the second a manuscript "Some memories of WB Yeats by Brigit Patmore".

Collection consists of correspondence between D.H. Lawrence and his publishers, colleagues and friends, dating from 1918 to 1930. Additional correspondence includes several items from Frieda Lawrence to individuals such as Willard Houghland, an autograph letter from Alfred Stieglitz to Frieda, two letters from Catherine Carswell, and other correspondence between Willard Houghland, George W. Joel, Merle Armitage, John Martin, C.E. Frazer Clark, Alan Clodd and Laurence Pollinger. The writings consist of autograph, typescript, and carbon copy typescript drafts of short stories, essays, and plays by Lawrence; a galley proof of a collection of letters between Lawrence and Martin Secker; a forward for a bibliography; pencil sketches for a set design; Derek Patmore's memoir of Lawrence; a mimeograph radio broadcast script by Dorothy Baker; theatre programmes from various stage adaptations of Lawrence's works, as well as posters, movie stills, and related promotional material; and photocopies of articles by Lawrence. The miscellaneous material consists of photographs, press cuttings, bibliographical data, and artwork including an oil painting, water color, painted tin tray and box, and needlework picture all done by Lawrence.
