Also, includes land grants and patents signed by Monroe, deed of transfer of land in King George County, Va., of William Bankhead's share to Monroe, and an agreement for the sale of land in Loudoun County, Va., from John Duval to Monroe. Correspondence from Monroe concerns attempts to sell the land jointly owned with his uncle, Joseph Jones. Also, includes letters from John Marshall offering assistance in purchasing western land, from John Breckinridge reporting on Marshall's land in Kentucky, from Thomas Williams offering to buy Monroe's land in Ohio and commenting on squatters, and from Thomas Metcalfe seeking information on the sale of Monroe's land in Harrison County, Kentucky.
