Includes photocopies of letters and other documents; correspondence; articles, and drafts of articles; and photographs and slides of Oberlin College and town residents.

Title: Papers, 1882-1981, 1910-1972.

This collection consists mainly of scrapbooks assembed by Miss Johnston between 1910 and 1972 as a record of her family life in Oberlin, her teaching career and travels, and activities in retirement in Cleveland, Ohio. The remainder of the collection includes correspondence received from family and friends, four diaries, miscellaneous family papers, and photographs. Although the collection provides little biographical information, it does have research potential for those studying educational opportunities for blacks in the South during the period 1912-55, prior to desegregation.
