Letters between Jacob A. Meyers of Meyers Falls, Wash., and George H. Himes of the Oregon Historical Society, attempting to establishing the veracity of a statement asserting that the first mill north of California was established at Fort Colville in 1826. Himes asserts the first mills were instead established by Hudson's Bay Company at Fort Vancouver.
