The scrapbook chiefly documents fundraising activities for the twentieth and twenty-fifth anniversary reunions of the Harvard College Class of 1917 in 1936 and 1942. It appears to have belonged to Robert Howell Davison, a member of the Class of 1917. The scrapbook documents Davison's service to the Class of 1917 as a member of the twentieth anniversary reunion general committee (1936) and as chairman of the twenty-fifth anniversary reunion committee (1942). Additional activities for the Class of 1917 documented in this scrapbook include a luncheon at the Harvard-Army football game (1939), a supper before a Harvard-Yale hockey game (1940), a cocktail hour prior to a Boston Pops concert (1940), and a luncheon at a Harvard-Princeton football game (1940). The scrapbook also includes a program and lapel pin from the forty-third meeting of the Associated Harvard Clubs at the World's Fair in 1940 and a lapel pin and program documenting Davison's role as an observer at the twenty-fifth anniversary reunions of the Classes of 1915 and 1916. The scrapbook contains circular letters, news clippings, invitations, questionnaires, admission tickets, reunion programs, sheet music to the "Harvard Day's March," and issues of "Seventeen Men," a publication of the Class of 1917 containing editorials, articles relating to class affairs, cartoons, and pictures.
