Records of the first Baptist church organized in Minnesota Territory, documenting its history, administration, and the activities of its auxiliary organizations. The collection includes church histories and historical and biographical sketches (1874-1999); scrapbooks (1867-1945) containing newspaper clippings, programs, pamphlets and other print materials, correspondence, photographs, tickets, and other memorabilia; church manuals (1859-[19--]; correspondence and related records (1853-1941); pastoral sermons and addresses (1862, 1921); minutes (1849-1939) of meetings of the congregation, deacons, and trustees; membership records (1849-1936); financial records (1857-1941); narrative and statistical annual reports of the church (1856-1940); and minutes, membership and financial records, annual reports, correspondence, instructional materials, and newsletters of women's societies (1851-1943), women's home and foreign mission circles/societies (1875-1898), young adult, youth, and children's groups (1881-1920), and the Sunday/Bible school (1871-1930). Also present are records of two related organizations: a minute book (1877-1890) of the Minnesota Baptist Association and a record book (1890-1892) of the Park Avenue Baptist Mission.
