Title: Montgomery Evans papers, 1919-1952.

This collection contains a great deal of correspondence between Montgomery Evans and others as well as his personal writings, diaries, personal memorabilia, biographical materials and published articles. The majority of the correspondence is either of personal nature, or regards the activity of book collecting, selling and trading, which was common among Evans' acquaintances. Of particular interest are a number of letters from Carl Goedel. These letters are all written from Europe after World War II and lead up to the arrest of "Axis Sally"(Mildred Gillars), and Goedel's implication that he was involved in her propaganda spreading Nazi broadcasts. There is a newspaper article regarding her arrest, and a letter of support written by Evans defending his friend.
