The collection comprises papers relating to both Guy and Phyllis Boyd. There is correspondence with gallery directors, exhibition catalogues and photographs relating to the life and career of Guy Boyd. The main correspondents include Philip Bacon, Ron and Betty Beaver, Kim Bonython, Eva Breuer, Andrew Ivanyi, Gisella Scheinberg, Max Stern and Ann von Bertouch. Phyllis Boyd was actively involved with organizations covering a wide range of social, feminist and religious issues. There is correspondence, papers and subject files relating to this involvement, including with Women Who Want to be Women, The Australian Family Association and Women Against the Ordination of Women. There are also papers relating to the estate of Phyllis Boyd's aunt, the artist Agnes McNamara. The Boyds were amongst the first to be involved in what was to become a national campaign for a judicial enquiry into the 1982 murder conviction of Lindy Chamberlain. There is correspondence, campaign ephemera and newspaper cuttings relating to the 'A plea for mercy' campaign which they initiated. Guy Boyd was executor of the estate of his uncle, the author Martin Boyd. Included in the papers is correspondence relating to the administration of the estate and the sale and distribution of Martin Boyd's books.
