The collection contains deeds, 1650; will of London merchant George Warcupp, 1654; indentures, 1657, 1664, 1691; an account for the estate of John Oliver, 1673; sermons of J. Hickson, c. 1677 and Luke Milbourne, ante 1720; a commonplace book of Kinard de la Bere, 1684-1686; a statement concerning Charles II's lack of money; an engraving and signature of John Lowther; theological extracts, c. 1690; a calendar of statutes, 17th c.; a satirical poem on Louis XIV and Madame de Maintenon, 17th c.; a royal charter for the Chelsea Water Works, 1722/23; a glssary of Old English words, c. 1750; a commonplace book, 1765 containing accounts with Lord Robert Manners; a letterbook of Congregational minister Charles Buck, 1790-1791; a "Political dailogue between Mr. Fairdebate & Mr. Meanwell" on petitioning the king to remove a minister, c. 1790; a bound volume of songs, 1794; copies, 18th c. of extracts of letters, 1659-1660, from Algernon Sidney to Robert Sidney, Earl of Leicester and postcards of initials in an Italian missal. Of interest are a letter to Sir James Stewart concerning Heriot's Hospital, Edinburgh, 1659; Sir William Beecher's "A relation of the success of the love of King Henry IV to the Princess of Conde"; a Lambarde family archive concerning the Titus Oakes Plot, 1678, together with articles of impeachment for high treason against Thomas Osborne, the Earl of Danby; a satire "A diaglogue between Sue and Kate...." 1708; a projected commercial treaty between Peter I of Russia and George I of Great Britain, post 1714; and a note on a portentous overflow of Earwell Pond, 1727. Also "Manners A Satire" by Paul Whitehead, c. 1739; a letter from the 2nd Earl of Albemarle regarding the settling of an account in Herfordshire, 1741; an early 18th c. copy of the memoirs of Sir John Langham; 18th c. extracts from "The paradoxal discourses of F. M. Van Helmont"; a memoir of John Mason describing a rise from poverty, late 18th c.; a journal kept by Sir Charles Witham, a naval officer, 1811-1812; selections copied, 1826, from Roger Wilbraham's Cheshire glossary; and transcripts of early documents concerning the Manor of Northall, Middlesex. There are also inventories of Lambarde family manuscripts and biographical notes concerning William Lambarde;
