Title: Leland Ledgerwood collection, 1880-1998.

Materials, primarily 1890-1953 and centering around the life and career of country musician William Ledgerwood, include Ledgerwood family genealogical records and photographs; business correspondence and publicity clippings related to Ledgerwood's Tennessee Fiddlers; and sound recordings, chiefly of country music. Photographs are largely from William Ledgerwood's childhood and youth in Grainger County, Tenn., and Rutledge, Tenn. Also included are photographs of the original Ledgerwood's Tennessee Fiddlers in Warren, Ohio. Band business and publicity materials include correspondence and clippings from newspapers either reviewing or advertising the band's appearances. Sound recordings are primarily home-recorded acetate discs and reel-to-reel tapes, some recorded after the band had stopped performing publicly. The recordings preserve a wide array of traditional country songs performed mainly by members of Ledgerwood's Tennessee Fiddlers. Included are recordings of William Ledgerwood, Gladys Ledgerwood, and Fred Ledgerwood, as well as other musicians who worked with the band, including Mack McGraw. Also included are three cassette recordings of interviews with Leland Ledgerwood.

Flynn, Gerald T. World War II photographs, 1942-1944.

Title: World War II photographs, 1942-1944.

The collection consists of World War II era photographs collected by Eleventh Air Force veteran Gerald T. Flynn. There are 17 black and white photographic prints of aerial combat, aircraft, airfield facilities, and aerial views. Locations where the photographs were taken include Attu and Kiska islands. All but two of the photographs appear to be from official military sources. Aircraft pictured include P-38G, P-38J, and P-40 fighters, a C-47 cargo plane, and a B-25 bomber. The combat photographs include those of Japanese ships under aerial attack.

Title: Wisconsin Democratic Party Oral History Project interviews, 1982-1986.

Interviews with 37 former and current activists in the Democratic Party of Wisconsin concentrating particularly on the Party's building period between the end of World War II and the electoral successes in the late 1950s. Interviewees include former Progressives, former Socialists, pre-1945 Democrats, activists in farm and labor organizations, successful and unsuccessful candidates for office, local party workers, and party chairmen. Because so much of the party's leadership came from Dane and Milwaukee counties, interviewees come disproportionately from these areas. Each interview is accompanied by an abstract providing information on the contents and the tape location where topics are covered. Also present is one box of research materials. The interviews were conducted by Catherine Coberly and Jim Cavanaugh for the State Historical Society of Wisconsin.
