The collection includes 18 boxes of research files arranged by geographic location. There are 18 boxes of reports written chiefly by Augustus Locke and H.M. Kingsbury as well as some by George Tunnel, P.F. Boswell, Roland Blanchard, E.H. Wisser, Paul Billingsley and E.H. Perry. Many of the reports authored by Locke were addressed to the Calumet and Hecla Consolidated Copper Company. There are 3 boxes of card files which index the research files and reports. There are also 100 pieces of correspondence (1915-1917); 36 maps (chiefly from the Miami Copper Company); and approximately 300 photographs.
