Biographical History
In February 1909 , the Glasgow University Contingent of the Senior Division of the Officers Training Corps was founded at the University of Glasgow , Scotland. This became known in 1940 as the Glasgow University Contingent of the Senior Training Corps , then the Glasgow Training Corps (Territorial Army) in 1948 , the Glasgow University Officers' Training Corps in 1955 , and finally following a merger with the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow Officer Training Corps changed to Glasgow & Strathclyde Universities' Officers' Training Corps in 1965 . The affairs of the Corps, other than military, were managed by the Military Education Committee of the University. The purpose of the Corps was to train students and others for commissions in the Territorial Army and the Regular Army. In 2002, the Corps continued to function.
