Biographical History

Represented in the collection are: Michael Wallace (1719-1767), physician from Glasgow, Scotland, and later of Ellerslie Plantation, King George County, Va.; his son, Gustavus Brown Wallace (1751-1802), Lieutenant Colonel during the Revolution; his son, Michael Wallace (b. 1753), captain for Virginia forces during the Revolution.

Also represented in the collection are: his son, James Wallace (1755-1791), surgeon during the Revolution, later resident of Jacksonborough, S.C., ; his son, William Brown Wallace (1757-1833), Captain during the Revolution; his son, John Wallace (1761-1829), served in Continental Army; his son, Thomas Wallace (1761-1818), lieutenant during the Revolution.
