Newspaper editor of S.C.; born, Phoenix, S.C., son of Johnson Sale and Charlotte Louise Moseley Watson; graduate, UNC-Chapel Hill, A.B., 1899; married Ella Dargan, 1900; owner and editor, Greenwood Index, which merged in 1919 with the Journal to become the Index-Journal; editor, Spartanburg Herald, 1905-1906; manager, Carolina Melon Grower's Agency; partner, Adams and Watson General Merchandise, Phoenix, S.C.
