Biographical History

Thomas Ley was a N.S.W. (later Federal) parliamentarian. In 1928 he was defeated in the Federal elections after various ill-fated business dealings and the death or disappearance of a number of opponents. He was found guilty of the murder of a barman John Mudie in 1946 and sentenced to death. He was found insane and transferred to Broadmoor Criminal Lunatic Asylum where he died on 27 July 1947.
