Biographical History

American photographer, philanthropist, and patron of new music and contemporary composers. Since the mid-1960s, Freeman has served on the board of directors for the Pasadena Art Museum's concert program and for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Freeman is also the photographer of a series of portraits of prominent contemporary musicians, published as Music people and others (1987), and the producer of a documentary film about Harry Partch entitled The dreamer that remains (1972).
