Biographical History
Born in New Jersey, Parke studied law in Lexington, Ky. before moving to Vincennes, Ind. in 1799. He served as territorial attorney general and judge, as a judge of the U.S. District Court, and as an Indian agent. Parke was also the first president of the Indiana Historical Society.
Delegate to the U.S. Congress, jurist, army officer, and public official of Indiana (Territory).
