Biographical History
College of Law The University of Cincinnati College of Law is the fourth oldest continuously operating law school in the United States, and began as the Cincinnati Law School in 1833. The school became a department of the Cincinnati College in 1835, and was the only law school in the state of Ohio until 1885. In 1896, the University of Cincinnati established a Law Department of which William Howard Taft, was appointed Dean. The Cincinnati College and the University of Cincinnati merged in 1918.
Marx graduated from the University Of Cincinnati College of Law in 1909, and later became a faculty member at the college. He was a Cincinnati Superior Court judge and the first national commander of the Disabled American Veterans. Marx was also a WWI veteran, a businessman, and a philanthropist.
