Massachusetts. Governor's Chief of Operations.

During the first term (1975-1979) of Michael Dukakis, the cabinet coordinator oversaw and coordinated the work of the secretariats comprising the governor's cabinet, scheduling and preparing agendas for cabinet meetings, and compiling information and developing policy for the governor on issues raised during those meetings. At some point during later terms (1983-1991) of Michael Dukakis, such an official became known as Chief of Operations, sharing the above responsibilities with other senior policy staff and with the Governor's Scheduling Office.
