Pierpont Edwards was the youngest son of Jonathan Edwards, the elder. He was born in Northampton, Mass., graduated from Princeton University in 1768, practiced law in New Haven, Conn., served many terms in the Connecticut Legislature and in the U.S. Contentinal Congress (1787-1789).
Member of the Continental Congress.
Pierpont Edwards was the youngest son of the College of New Jersey's third President Jonathan Edwards, and a member of the Class of 1768. Following his time at Princeton, he served in the Continental Army, and went on to serve in the Continental Congress and the Connecticut House of Representatives. He was also the uncle of Aaron Burr.
