Biographical History

Born in Wisconsin and moved with his family to Chicago, Illinois in 1899 where he learned magic which he used when he volunteered during WWI and was assigned as a "Performer, Producer and Organizer of Entertainment" at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station in Chicago. He headed a group of performers who travelled much of the country entertaining troops. He took up public speaking and was a member of the Public Speakers Bureau of Chicago. He also wrote numerous letters to congressmen requesting increased benefits for veterans.
