Biographical History
"Folklife in Rural Iowa" was an oral history project conducted in the summer of 1978 and funded by Earthwatch, a national organization encouraging public participation in field research. Interviewers worked in 2 teams under the direction of field director Rebecca Conard and assistant field director Michael Mendelson. Peter Harstad, director of the State Historical Society of Iowa, served as the project's principal investigator.
