Biographical History
The Board of Painting Examiners was established May 12, 1937 [Laws 1937 c428 s1] to examine all applicants for contractor's or journeyman painter's licenses and issue the licenses, to hold hearings into violations of the registration act or code of minimum standards, to reissue revoked or suspended licenses at the end of the revocation/suspension period, and to recommend changes to the registration act and code. The board's services were discontinued on April 30, 1941 [Laws 1941 c282 c2], due to the repeal of the Industrial Commission's right to supervise painting [Mason's Minn. Stat. 1940 s5887]. The three members of the board during its entire existence were Francis M. Peters, Fred Ivers, and George S. Johnson.
