Biographical History

Formerly the Entrepreneurs' Association (EA) founded in 1989, the Business Success Center (BSC) was renamed and restructured in 2000 by Daniel Diener, CFO, and Jan Triplett, COO. Having purchased the EA from Martin Palmer in 1992, Diener and Triplett, a husband-wife business team, used the for-profit organization to help small businesses succeed in Austin, Texas. Their collective experience owning and operating Diener, Triplett & Associates, Inc. (1982-1992), an advertising and marketing venture for private businesses, coupled with Jan Triplett's work as the Chief Editor for The Networker magazine (1980-1997), a business publication designed to support and facilitate networking for Texas women, provided the background needed to teach both new and old businesses to survive and thrive in competitive local and international markets. The BSC sponsored educational workshops and events to teach new business owners the networking and marketing strategies needed to grow while simultaneously sponsoring awards ceremonies, like The Heavy Hitters Dinner (1992-2005), to honor the achievements of established Austin businesses. In addition, Jan Triplett worked with a small team to conduct a four-year research study for the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) in 1999 regarding the importance of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in public relations decisions for small businesses. Dan Diener and Jan Triplett continue to own and operate the BSC in Austin.
