Biographical Sketch:
Born in Indiana, Tracy Doll moved to Detroit, MI in 1916 and became affiliated with labor unions through his work in the automobile industry. He served as executive secretary-director of the C.I.O. political action committee, president of the Wayne County Council of the C.I.O.,executive board member of the United Automibile Workers of America and was president of the Local No, 154 U.A.W.-C.I.O. He served four years as a member of the Wayne County Board of Supervisorsand was a member of the Ways and Means Finance Committee of the board. He was elected to the state legislature on the Democratic ticket representing Wayne County's 1st District in 1945-46 and 1949-50.
Notable Facts:
Expelled along with Sam Sage from the UAW in 1949 for "disloyalty to the UAW-CIO and with acts highly injurious to the International Union" because he and Sage printed and distributed a suppressed report on allegations of gangsterism and racketeering in the UAW.
Served in 137th Field Artillery in France during WWI.
