James Simpson was a Quaker minister from the border of Philadelphia and Bucks Counties, Pennsylvania. He was the son of minister John Simpson and his wife Ruth. James was married twice, first to Susanna Satterthwaite in 1803, and second to Ann Balderston in 1823.
