Biographical History

Mary Hoskins Newbould Bonsall was a Quaker associated with Burlington Monthly Meeting. She was born on the 9th of the 5th month 1765 to John and Mary (Raper) Hoskins. In 1791 she married Samuel Newbold of the Township of Chesterfield in the County of Burlington, son of John and Mary Newbold. In 1807, she remarried to widower Isaac Bonsall, first superintendent of Friends Hospital, of Uwchlawn Township, son of Edward. She was the sister-in-law of John Griscom, Thomas Scattergood, and Joseph Richardson, whose son Nathaniel married Hannah Yarnall, daughter of Peter Yarnall and Hannah Haines Thornton Yarnall. She died on July 24, 1814.
