Biographical History
Isaac Zane was an Anglo-American man who spent much of his life with the Wyandot tribe of Native Americans. The Wyandot allegedly captured Zane around the age of 9, and their chief, Tarhe, adopted and raised him. Upon reaching adulthood Zane served as an interpreter for the Wyandot in many of their treaties. In 1777 he married Tarhe's daughter Myerrah. Zane founded the town of Zanesfield in Logan County, Ohio, where he died in 1816.
