Biographical History

In 1948, a group of World War II veterans attending Harvard founded the Brattle Theatre Company. The Company presented classic and contemporary serious drama with a group of repertory actors and directors. (Wikipedia contributors, "Brattle Theatre," Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Brattle_Theatre&oldid=992388174 (accessed January 18, 2021).)

The Brattle Theatre Company was formed in the fall of 1948 partly by members of the Harvard Veterans' Theatre Workshop. It staged 64 ensemble productions in its four years; the group dissolved in 1952 (and in 1953, the theater became a movie house). (Brattle Theatre Company records compiled by Eleanor M. Mattersdorff: Guide. https://hollisarchives.lib.harvard.edu/repositories/24/resources/8648)
