Lloyd Espenschied (1889-) was born in St. Louis, Missouri and in 1909 graduated from the Pratt Institute in electrical engineering. During 1909-1910 he was on the staff of the Telefunken Wireless Telegraph Company. From 1910 to 1934 he worked for American Telephone and Telegraph Company in various capacities; and from 1934 to 1937 he directed high-frequency transmission development for the Bell Telephone Laboratories. Espenschied's chief interests seem to have been in the area of wide-band and carrier waves and in wide band systems for communication.
