Biographical History

Frederic Tudor (1783-1864) was the successful "Ice King" of Boston, who sold ice in tropical climates. His brother Henry James Tudor (1791-1864) studied law and worked for a while in Frederic Tudor's ice business. Another brother William Tudor (1779-1830) was a merchant, legislator, author, and diplomat. Their father William Tudor (1750-1819) was a Boston lawyer and political figure.
