Biographical History

After a five month struggle United States military forces in the Philippines surrendered to the Japanese. Most of those were involved in the Bataan Death March. Not all Americans were captured, approximately 400 Americans formed small guerilla units with the aid of Filipinos and local tribes. They conducted information gathering and covert activities against the Japanese invaders for thirty-four months. Of the original number, it is estimated that about half survived the war.
