Walter Lee (b. 1840-d. October 22, 1881, Lena Delta, Russia) was a crew member of the USS Jeannette which was crushed by ice and sank June 6, 1881 in the Arctic Sea north of Siberia while undertaking an expedition to find the "Polar Sea". The cruise had originated at San Francisco, California, on July 8, 1879. Originally buried with other crew members just north of Bulun on the Lena River delta, he was reburied at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, New York.
