Biographical History

Myron Robert Brown was born in Toledo, Ohio on Sept. 5, 1846. In 1852 his parents and sister made the journey to Portland, OR where soon after their arrival, Brown's father passed away leaving his mother with 2 small children. They were able to survive and establish themselves in Oregon. In 1870 he married and they had three daughters and a son. After trying his hand at several occupations including cowboy, farmer and carpenter, he entered the Methodist ministry in 1889. His list of appointments covered the Pacific Northwest. He enjoyed being a pioneer preacher. He tried to retire in 1919 and went to live with his son in Hoquiam, WA where he discovered that he wasn't happy unless he was ministering. He was appointed to Simpson Ave. in Hoquiam, WA. He had happily taken on his new responsibilities when he passed away a few weeks later on November 14, 1920.

From the description of Myron R. Brown's diaries, 1863,1867. (Washington State Library, Office of Secretary of State). WorldCat record id: 310357232
