LL.D. from Brown University and Harvard University 1940 returns to Cambridge, MA. 1955 gives set of letters from legal scholars, historians, etc. to Harvard Law School Library; all include his comments on the individual writers of the letters. Litt. D., University of Cambridge 1960 dies
